Privacy policy
This policy explains what information this website handles and why.
Your IP address and location
To show your IP address, your browser asks our server, which runs on Cloudflare, for the address your request came from. Cloudflare provides the approximate location and internet provider along with it. We send this back to your browser to display it. We don't store it in a database or use it to identify you.
To show the other version of your IP address (IPv4 or IPv6), your browser also contacts ipify, a free public service that replies with your address. ipify's own privacy practices apply to that request.
Like all web hosts, Cloudflare processes your IP address to deliver the site and protect it from abuse. See Cloudflare's privacy policy for details.
Tools
The subnet calculator, IP converter, and password generator run entirely in your browser. Nothing you type into them is sent to us. Passwords are never transmitted or stored.
The DNS lookup sends the domain name you enter to Cloudflare's public DNS service, or to Google Public DNS if Cloudflare doesn't respond. The WebRTC leak test contacts a public STUN server run by Google, which sees your IP address in order to report it back to your browser.
Things stored only in your browser
To tell you when your IP address changes, the home page saves the last few addresses it showed you in your browser's local storage, along with when you saw them. Your Pip settings, such as where you left Pip or whether you hid Pip, are saved the same way. This information stays on your device and is never sent to us. You can clear your IP history with the "Clear history" button on the home page, or by clearing your browser's site data.
Browser and device details
The browser, operating system, screen size, and language shown on the home page are read by your own browser and displayed only to you. They are not sent to us.
Advertising and cookies
We use Google AdSense to show ads. Google and its partners may use cookies and similar technologies to show ads based on your visits to this and other websites. You can learn how Google uses this information at policies.google.com/technologies/partner-sites and manage personalized ads at adssettings.google.com.
Visitors in the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom, and Switzerland are asked for consent before personalized ads are shown.
Affiliate links
Some pages may contain affiliate links. If you buy through one, we may earn a commission at no extra cost to you. We'll always label these links.
Contact form
When you send a message through our contact page, we store the topic, your message, your name and email address if you choose to give them, and the country your connection comes from. We don't store your IP address with your message. We use this only to read and reply to your message, and it is deleted automatically after one year.
The form is protected by Cloudflare Turnstile, which checks that you're a person rather than an automated program. Turnstile processes information about your browser and connection for that check, under Cloudflare's privacy policy.
