How it works

Every five minutes, our server visits the home page of each service from Cloudflare's network and records whether it answered, how fast, and whether it turned the visit away. One failed check can be a blip, so a failure is confirmed with a second request straight away, and a service is only called down after two failed checks in a row, which is about ten minutes.

What the labels mean

  • Working: it answered normally.
  • Slow: it answered, but much more slowly than it usually does.
  • Possible problem: the latest check failed, and we're waiting for the next one to confirm.
  • Down: it has failed at least two checks in a row, so this isn't just you.
  • Can't tell: the service answers, but refuses automated visitors, so we can't judge how it's doing. Use its page's live check or its official status page.

Is the internet down, or just my connection?

If most services show as working here but none will load for you, the problem is on your side: your Wi-Fi, your router, or your provider. Fix my internet measures your connection and finds the likely cause. If several unrelated services are down at once, there may be a wider outage, and waiting is usually the only fix.

What these checks can't tell you

We check from one network. A service can work for us and fail for you, because of a regional outage, your provider, or your own account. We only test the service's front door, so a feature such as uploads or video calls can fail while the home page still answers. When a service publishes an official status page, that page is the authority, and each service's page here links to it where one exists.
