Instagram is Meta's photo and video sharing app. When Instagram stops loading, the question is always the same: is the service down for everyone, or is the problem on your side? The check above visits instagram.com right now from Cloudflare's network, so you get an answer in a few seconds.

If Instagram is up but not working for you

Force-close the Instagram app and reopen it. If that doesn't help, check your app store for an update.
Try Instagram in a web browser instead of the app, or the app instead of the browser. If one works, the other has a local problem.
Turn off any VPN or ad blocker for a moment. Some networks and tools block parts of Instagram.

Common questions

Is Instagram down for everyone or just me?

Our check visits instagram.com from a Cloudflare server, far away from your connection. If it answers there but not for you, the problem is most likely your Wi-Fi, internet provider, DNS, VPN, or the app. If it doesn't answer there either, Instagram is probably down for many people. A single check can be wrong, so try again in a minute before you decide.

Why is Instagram not working?

The usual causes are Instagram having a real outage or maintenance, your Wi-Fi or internet provider, a DNS problem, a VPN or ad blocker, an out-of-date app or browser, or the wrong date and time on your device. Work through the steps above from the easiest to the hardest.

What does "up, but blocking checks" mean?

Some large sites refuse requests that come from servers rather than ordinary browsers. If the check says the site responded but blocked it, the site is almost certainly working, and the check just can't see more than that.

Where is the official Instagram status page?

We aren't aware of a public status page from Instagram. The company's help center and its official support account on social media are the best places to look for confirmed problems.
