Reddit is a network of discussion communities. When Reddit stops loading, the question is always the same: is the service down for everyone, or is the problem on your side? The check above visits reddit.com right now from Cloudflare's network, so you get an answer in a few seconds.

If Reddit is up but not working for you

Force-close the Reddit app and reopen it. If that doesn't help, check your app store for an update.
Try Reddit in a web browser instead of the app, or the app instead of the browser. If one works, the other has a local problem.
Turn off any VPN or ad blocker for a moment. Some networks and tools block parts of Reddit.
Still stuck? Run our connection troubleshooter. It measures your connection and points to the most likely cause.

Official status

Reddit publishes its own status page: Reddit Status. If it lists an incident, that confirms the problem is on Reddit's side.

Common questions

Is Reddit down for everyone or just me?

Our check visits reddit.com from a Cloudflare server, far away from your connection. If it answers there but not for you, the problem is most likely your Wi-Fi, internet provider, DNS, VPN, or the app. If it doesn't answer there either, Reddit is probably down for many people. A single check can be wrong, so try again in a minute before you decide.

Why is Reddit not working?

The usual causes are Reddit having a real outage or maintenance, your Wi-Fi or internet provider, a DNS problem, a VPN or ad blocker, an out-of-date app or browser, or the wrong date and time on your device. Work through the steps above from the easiest to the hardest.

What does "up, but blocking checks" mean?

Some large sites refuse requests that come from servers rather than ordinary browsers. If the check says the site responded but blocked it, the site is almost certainly working, and the check just can't see more than that.

Where is the official Reddit status page?

Reddit publishes one: Reddit Status. It is the best place to see confirmed incidents and updates.
