Discord is a chat app for communities, with text channels and voice rooms. When Discord stops loading, the question is always the same: is the service down for everyone, or is the problem on your side? The check above visits discord.com right now from Cloudflare's network, so you get an answer in a few seconds.

If Discord is up but not working for you

Force-close the Discord app and reopen it. If that doesn't help, check your app store for an update.
Try Discord in a web browser instead of the app, or the app instead of the browser. If one works, the other has a local problem.
Turn off any VPN or ad blocker for a moment. Some networks and tools block parts of Discord.
Discord's voice and text run on different servers, so voice can fail while text still works. In a voice channel's settings, try choosing a different server region.
Still stuck? Run our connection troubleshooter. It measures your connection and points to the most likely cause.

Official status

Discord publishes its own status page: Discord Status. If it lists an incident, that confirms the problem is on Discord's side.

Common questions

Is Discord down for everyone or just me?

Our check visits discord.com from a Cloudflare server, far away from your connection. If it answers there but not for you, the problem is most likely your Wi-Fi, internet provider, DNS, VPN, or the app. If it doesn't answer there either, Discord is probably down for many people. A single check can be wrong, so try again in a minute before you decide.

Why is Discord not working?

The usual causes are Discord having a real outage or maintenance, your Wi-Fi or internet provider, a DNS problem, a VPN or ad blocker, an out-of-date app or browser, or the wrong date and time on your device. Work through the steps above from the easiest to the hardest.

What does "up, but blocking checks" mean?

Some large sites refuse requests that come from servers rather than ordinary browsers. If the check says the site responded but blocked it, the site is almost certainly working, and the check just can't see more than that.

Where is the official Discord status page?

Discord publishes one: Discord Status. It is the best place to see confirmed incidents and updates.
