DNS lookup

Check a domain's A, AAAA, MX, TXT, NS, CNAME, and CAA records.

Enter a domain to see the DNS records the internet uses for it. Lookups go through Cloudflare's public DNS service, with Google Public DNS as a backup, so you see what the wider internet sees rather than anything cached on your own network.

Common record types

RecordWhat it does
APoints the domain to an IPv4 address.
AAAAPoints the domain to an IPv6 address.
CNAMEMakes the name an alias of another domain.
MXLists the servers that receive email for the domain.
NSNames the servers in charge of the domain's DNS.
TXTHolds text, often for email security (SPF, DKIM, DMARC) or ownership checks.
CAASays which certificate authorities may issue SSL certificates for the domain.

Why did my change not show up yet?

Every record has a TTL (time to live), measured in seconds. It tells DNS servers how long they may keep a copy before checking again. If you change a record, some people may see the old value until the previous TTL runs out. Changing name servers can take up to a day or two to reach everyone.
