Password generator

Create strong, random passwords in your browser. Nothing is sent or saved.

Passwords are created inside your browser using its built-in secure random number generator. They're never sent over the internet or saved anywhere, including on this site.

What makes a password strong

Length matters more than anything else. Each extra character multiplies the number of guesses an attacker needs. A random 16-character password using letters, numbers, and symbols is far beyond what anyone can guess today. The strength rating shows roughly how many bits of randomness the password has; every additional bit doubles the guesses needed.

Good habits

  • Use a different password for every account, so one leak doesn't unlock the rest.
  • Store them in a password manager instead of a notes file or spreadsheet.
  • Turn on two-step verification wherever it's offered, especially for email and banking.
