ERR_INTERNET_DISCONNECTED: how to fix it

ERR_INTERNET_DISCONNECTED means your device lost its internet connection. Here's how to get back online quickly, step by step.

In short: your device isn't connected to the internet at all right now. Run our troubleshooter to test your connection.

What it means

Your browser checked and found no working network connection. Either the device isn't connected to Wi-Fi or a cable, or it's connected to a network that has no internet.

Common causes

  • Wi-Fi or airplane mode switched off.
  • The router or modem has lost its internet connection.
  • The device dropped off a weak Wi-Fi signal.
  • A network adapter or driver problem.

How to fix it

  1. Check Wi-Fi is on and airplane mode is off, then reconnect to your network.
  2. Check another device. If it's also offline, the problem is your router or provider.
  3. Restart your router and modem. Unplug both for 30 seconds, plug in the modem first, then the router.
  4. Forget the Wi-Fi network and reconnect with the password.
  5. On Windows, try Settings > Network & internet > Advanced network settings > Network reset, then restart.

Still stuck? Our "Fix my internet" troubleshooter measures your connection and suggests the next step.
